No offense intended to the users who have tried to help (all help is appreciated!), but we shouldn't need to be programmers or go through a convoluted series of steps in the OS to do this. There is a "More tools" option, but it doesn't lead to anything about pinning either. Nothing about application settings or pinning sites. there IS NO Settings > Tools option! There is a Settings option, but all it does is open the Settings page in a new tab, Most of the posts here say to go to the Settings > Tools > Create Application Shortcuts. There is a Settings option, but it just opens a new tab with for Chrome settings, nothing about application shortcuts. Settings button I take it you mean the one at the top right of the screen consisting of three horizontal bars. Thanks for your answer, but unfortunately I can't get it to work.
